A five minute video piece recorded in December 2016 in various locations across Iceland.

The piece is a reflection on human interaction with nature, juxtaposing the harsh sounds of the extremes of nature with the calm, cocoon-like sanctuaries of vehicles, cafes and tourist locations.The piece uses techniques including sound synthesis and the switching of audio from the sounding environments of the various film clips to create a disorienting collage of audible and visual elements.

The purpose of i/ut is to question the safety and security of our sanctuaries and to consider how the trust we place in our collective ingenuity and evolved intelligence, has permitted us to both embrace and ignore the wilderness in equal measure.
